A Great Gray Owl takes flight in Yosemite National Park

On a cloudy spring morning in Yosemite National Park, a great gray owl takes flight over a patch of wildflowers in a mountain meadow. As my dad and I watched this owl hunting in a meadow one morning, we hoped she would dive into one of the few patches of wildflowers in the meadow. We couldn’t believe our luck when she dove not once, but twice into the flowers, giving us many photo opportunities, After a few hunting attempts, the owl successfully caught a vole and ate it.
